Bio » Wahkeena Sitka

Known as Sitka, born in 1979, I am 30 Years old (It’s True.) I am a vocalist; singing is my favorite joy in life. Among all the other myriad forms that creativity wants to take, I always return to the voice and to song as my primary creative expression in life. I have desired to sing and be a vocalist for as long as I can remember, and so being a vocalist is at the very core essence of who I am in my heart.

I am a self-identified mystic, vocalist, artist, bodyworker, web / graphic designer, and free spirit. I went to undergrad at Eastern Michigan University, and received my BA in History and Women’s Studies in 2001. I spent 6 years exploring Tantric work. I have studied therapeutic massage and bodywork modalities; having completed a 650 Hour course at the Ashland Institute of Massage, in Ashland OR in 2009. And I am currently a Web & Graphic designer by trade.

I began facilitating Vocal Alchemy circles in 2009, and facilitated them at a Yoga Studio in Ashland, OR – as well as Mystic Garden Party, Emrg’n'See, Beloved, & Symbiosis.

The Vocal Alchemy work is my intuitive synthesis of Healing Arts & Vocal Cultivation / Performance, offered ritualistically – fusing: QiGong practice, Vocal Toning, Microcosmic Orbit Breathwork, & African Tribal Trance .
